About
Caithness Seal Rehab & Release is a dedicated charity based along the Caithness Coastline, working tirelessly to protect, rescue, treat, and release both Common/Harbour seals and Gray seals. Donations to the organization are crucial in covering the expenses for running the center, including water, electricity, maintenance, food, cleaning products, veterinary visits, and treatments. The rehabilitation process for seal pups can take up to four months, or even longer if there are underlying health issues. The team at Caithness Seal Rehab & Release is committed to this time-consuming work out of love for these animals. Gray seals in particular have a diet primarily consisting of sand eels, whiting, and flatfish found in their surrounding environment. The charity's efforts not only help individual seals but also contribute to the conservation of these species along the UK coastline.
